Whether you agree with President Obama’s positions or not, as President he should be the dominant spokesperson for the U.S. For example, as President, he is charged with calming the public during times of crisis.

Swine Flu:When we first started learning about the swine flu, the President and his Administration sought to calm the general public telling us not to panic. Take common sense precautions like you would during any other flu outbreak and we’ll be fine. Biden, on the other hand announced he cautioned his family to avoid “confined places” and to stay off commercial airlines and subways. So what advice are we supposed to follow? Way to push the panic button Joe.

International Politics:President Obama recently made a speech in Moscow saying the U.S. wants to see a “strong, peaceful and prosperous Russia.” President Obama has made it clear that it is in the interests of both countries to work together. This makes sense since both countries contain the majority of the world’s nuclear arsenal and by working together could demand renegade countries cooperate at the international bargaining table. Biden, on the other hand just announced that Russia’s economic difficulties are likely to make the Kremlin more willing to cooperate with the U.S. and that the U.S. vastly underestimates the hand we hold. Is what he said true? Perhaps. But you DON’T say it on the world scene and disgrace a very powerful military power you are trying to bring into a cooperative relationship. And yes, the Russians are angry over his words. “It raises the question: Who is shaping U.S. foreign policy? The president or members of his team, even the most respected ones?” said Kremlin foreign policy adviser Sergei Prikhodko

At some point the current U.S. Administration has to decide who is going to quarterback domestic and international issues. Whether you agree with Biden or not, the President cannot be overruled publicly by his Vice President. President Obama, before you attempt any more national or international “fixes” perhaps you should invest some time fixing your own shop first.

This is aside from the fact that the officer was responding to a call from an African-American neighbor who reported that two African-Americans were breaking into the house of Gates. When the police officer, Sergeant James Crowley arrived at the home and walked in, he was immediately met by Gates screaming profanities and refusing to show any identification. Crowley rightfully handcuffed the man telling the press he believed him either to be one of the criminals and therefore dangerous or best case someone who would not calm down in a home that could still be harboring dangerous criminals.

Instead of thanking the officer for coming to the defense of his home and apologizing for acting like a two year old the “learned” professor immediately pulled the race card and accused Crowley of being a racist.

President Obama, a friend of Gates, said the police acted “stupidly” and then went on to state how the police have a history of disproportionately arresting African-Americans and Latinos. Of course more crimes are committed by African-Americans and Latinos which is a fact that the President never mentioned.

Sergeant Crowley has taught a course on racial profiling for five years at Lowell Police Academy and was the responding officer who administered CPR to African-American Boston Celtics player Reggie Lewis when he collapsed and died during an offseason workout.

Mr. Gates, you not only acted like a racist but a belligerent and ungrateful racist. Your advanced education did not serve you well on this occasion. I only hope that you realize the error of your ways and apologize like a real man (of any color) should do when he is wrong.

Mr. Obama, you are the President. As President you can no longer react without having all of the facts. That is not what a President of the United States does. By doing this you have shaken the security and trust of not only Americans but of allies and enemies abroad. Thank God your predecessor, Mr. Kennedy didn’t simply react without all of the facts during the Cuban missile crisis.

I’ve said before that Obama and the Democrats are trying to turn the U.S. into a government controlled socialist economy. Some say I’m wrong. But not Democratic U.S. Senator Tom Harkin. According to Harkin, the cap and trade legislation should be used to mandate the production of new cars and trucks capable of running on 85% ethanol. What happens if the automobile companies disagree this is what their customers want? It doesn’t matter. According to Harkin…. “We own the automobile companies!”

The GAO (the government group that studies other government groups) has come out and reported that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not have personnel smart enough to figure out its own budget. The FDA controls about a third of the nation’s economy through its rules and regulations and now wants to control the tobacco industry.

What do you do when you’re a budding young socialist government in the middle of a world recession? Spend money on yourself of course. The Social Security Administration (the group we all pay into that will go bankrupt before most of us will see a dime) just spend $700,000 for a “motivational” conference for their management. They argued it was essential.

Why would a parade cause this much violence? Because every year the Orange Order calls for big parades celebrating the centuries old victory of the English over the Irish accompanied by the “kick the Pope” bands that play in the background.

Now imagine if the U.S. held a parade every year to celebrate our victories over the Native Americans with kick the red man bands? Imagine a parade every year celebrating the conquering of Germany during World War I or II? Or Italy, Japan? How about a parade celebrating the victory over the African tribes complete with slave bands? It is one thing to celebrate the end of the war. It’s another thing to gloat about it in front of the population.

When the English beat the Irish many of the Irish were “impressed” or forced into servitude aboard their military ships. For centuries the remaining Catholics were discriminated against socially and economically. Families were ripped apart and regularly subjected to brutal beatings and little to no human rights. It was so bad even Thomas Swift wrote “A Modest Proposal” to lampoon the actions of the English.

The Irish responded violently. Much like Americans did to English tyranny. The Americans won. The Irish lost and eventually the English agreed to “divide” Ireland. They did so by taking the most economically advantageous areas for themselves which would come to be known as “Northern Ireland”. Think of the gerrymandering of a country for an economic benefit rather than political benefit.

Now after centuries of attempts at peace and near success in recent years, the Orange Order continues to go through with another insensitive parade to stir up more unrest. No, the Catholics should not respond violently. But then again there should not be a group out there practically daring them to respond violently either. Catholics should know better and so should the Protestants. Take away the cause and you’ll take away the violence.

1. Even though other countries continue to be victimized by bombings, over the past decade, the U.S. only suffered a few and none of these occurred since President Bush Jr. took office.
2. Muslim extremists are just that, extremists. They kill innocents because they believe that is what their religion requires. You will not be able to convince them otherwise.
3. Unless you are plotting something against our government or the people of the U.S., federal authorities don’t care what you think or say. It’s just a matter of logistics. They have bigger problems like terrorists to deal with and they don’t have enough man power. In summary, nobody at the federal level of law enforcement cares what you think. Really. I’m serious. You’re not that important.
4. Laws are designed to protect law abiding citizens from individuals that are, for the most part, law abiding citizens. People willing to murder at will do not care about laws forbidding murder. They fall into a different class of people that operate under different rules. Because of this, law enforcement that deals with this type of people must also work under a different set of rules.
5. Would you rather our federal black ops teams follow the same laws you do and risk having your family blown up while they shop for groceries or would you rather them continue as they have under President Bush? Think about this one. There is no in between. There never has been, there never will be. If you don’t believe me look at the U.S. news section and the World news section on any given day. Where are the bombs? Who is getting blown up? What where they doing right before they were blown up?

Sleep tight tonight knowing that men and women you don’t know and who don’t know you are risking their lives to protect you. You don’t have to thank them. But you should show the common courtesy of not insulting them.

Correct me if I’m wrong but whether or not someone calls people who belong to the Little People of America midgets, little people, tinyies, oompa loompas whatever…doesn’t change the fact that they are short.

If they really want for people to change how they act around them launch a media campaign like everyone else. No word is inherently derogatory. It’s the attitude behind the word. Work to change the attitude not the word. Otherwise your effort will be of little impact.

Obama wants us to spend U.S. tax dollars training an enemy that will STILL (after his agreement) have 1,500 nuclear warheads pointed towards the U.S. and our allies. Yes, they are still an enemy. Anyone that has thousands of warheads aimed at you is not an ally.

Isn’t it bad enough that Bin Laden went to school in the U.S.? Now we are going to TRAIN the Russian military in how we plan on fighting a war. Sun Tsu in the Art of War told us to know our enemies as we know ourselves. General Patton is one of many examples of military leaders who read and studied the works of opponents. Patton read everything on Rommel he could.

Could Obama possibly make this any easier for the Russians? I know he’s well on his way to turning us into a socialist economy but come on!

BUT an article on Philly.com breaks down the truth behind the numbers. At the present time 6.6 million Pennsylvanians pay income tax. ALL of these people would pay the higher rate. What about the other 50%? Well, under Rendell’s plan, children and the elderly would not have to pay anything. Thanks Ed.

To sell this plan, the Governor went so far as to tell people that without this increase, 800 state troopers could be laid off. Surely the Troopers Association would rise to halt such a thing from happening and back the Governor? Nope. The president of the Pennsylvania State Troopers Association called it an unrealistic scare tactic.

Still don’t worry. The Governor promises that the tax increase will only be for three years and then it will go away. Should we believe him? Well in the words of his very own spokesmen, Chuck Ardo: “The governor uses numbers to make a point,” he said. “His numbers are not inaccurate, although sometimes they do not tell the whole story.”

I’d say that’s an understatement Chuck. And that IS the truth.

Here is what I do care about in no particular order. The failing U.S. economy, N. Korea continuing to threaten the world community, the destabilization of Iraq, China, Iran, the socialism of America, the inability of politicians to pass state budgets on time.. etc, etc, etc.

To the press: Let’s keep our eye on the ball shall we. There are much bigger issues than the death of Michael Jackson to report on today.

I guess this would cause some political problems considering Obama and liberal Congressional Democrats are trying to pass environmental legislation that puts yet more nails into our fallen economy’s coffin. So much for fact based decisions. It’s one thing if you are working off of the best data you have. It’s another thing when you’re attempting to hide reports just so you can save “political face” in front of the American public you are about to harm.
